1. About this policy

VeloBridge (ABN 45 231 234 782) (“VeloBridge”, “we”, “us” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information in an open and transparent way.

We handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, hold, use, and disclose personal information through our website at velobridge.com.au (the “Site”) and in the course of providing our services.

2. What is personal information

Personal information is information or an opinion about an identified individual, or an individual who is reasonably identifiable, whether the information is true or not and whether it is recorded in a material form or not.

We collect only the personal information we reasonably need to operate our business and respond to you. This typically includes:

  • Contact details you submit through our enquiry form, namely your first name, last name, email address, and the content of any message you send us;

We do not intentionally collect sensitive information (such as health, racial, political or biometric information) through the Site. Please do not send us sensitive information unless we specifically request it.

Where it is lawful and practicable, you may interact with us anonymously or using a pseudonym. However, in most cases we will need your contact details to respond to an enquiry.

We collect, hold, use and disclose personal information for purposes including to:

  • respond to your enquiries and provide the information or services you request;
  • communicate with you about our services and your engagement with us;
  • operate, maintain, improve and secure the Site;
  • carry out our business administration, including invoicing and record-keeping; and

We will only use or disclose your personal information for the purpose for which it was collected, a related secondary purpose you would reasonably expect, or where you have consented or we are otherwise permitted or required by law.

We may, from time to time, send you information about our services that we think may be of interest to you. Every commercial electronic message we send will identify us and include a functional unsubscribe facility. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, may set essential cookies that are required for the Site to operate and to keep it secure. The Site may also use functional or analytics cookies.

  • our service providers and contractors who help us operate our business and the Site, including our website hosting provider (Cloudflare) and our email and IT service providers, who are authorised to use it only for the purposes for which we engage them;
  • our professional advisers, such as accountants and lawyers, where reasonably necessary; and
  • government agencies, regulators or other parties where required or authorised by law.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information.

9. Overseas disclosure

Our Site is hosted using Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare operates a global network and may store or process data on servers located outside Australia, including in the United States and other countries in which Cloudflare operates. Other service providers we use may also store or process data overseas. By using the Site and submitting your information, you acknowledge that your personal information may be stored or processed outside Australia. Where we disclose personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

10. Security of personal information

We take reasonable steps to protect the personal information we hold from misuse, interference and loss, and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. These steps include using reputable platform and security providers, restricting access to information, and maintaining appropriate operational practices. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Retention of personal information

We retain personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described in this policy, or as required to meet our legal, accounting or record-keeping obligations. When personal information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.

You have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you and to ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading. There is generally no charge for making a request, although we may charge a reasonable fee for retrieving information in some cases. We may need to verify your identity before providing access.
